The E-MU Orbit-3 is a 1U rack-mount synthesiser module released in 2001, designed specifically for electronic music producers seeking a robust and versatile sound source. Building upon the legacy of its predecessors, the Orbit-3 integrates the powerful Proteus 2000 engine with a focus on dance and electronica genres.

At its core, the Orbit-3 features a 64MB ROM comprising two renowned soundsets: the Techno Synth Construction Yard and Beat Garden, both crafted by acclaimed sound designer Rob Papen. These provide a rich palette of over 1,000 presets tailored for techno, trance, house, and related styles. The module offers 128-voice polyphony and 32-part multitimbrality, allowing for complex layering and sequencing.

A standout feature is E-MU's SuperBEATS mode, enabling users to trigger synchronised loops and grooves, enhancing live performance capabilities. Its synthesis architecture includes 50 Z-Plane filters, dual 24-bit effects processors with 76 effect types, and extensive modulation options, providing deep sound-shaping potential.

Condition:

  • This E-mu has been used.

  • This E-mu has been tested. Everything is working as it should and it sounds great!

  • The cosmetic condition of this unit is good. It is still a nice bright yellow. There are some scratches, marks and nicks. As well as some rack rash. Nothing major and nothing which detracts from the units functions or sounds. Overall it is a nice rack!

  • This unit is 100-240V. This means it is worldwide compatible. This unit requires a standard IEC cable to power on. This cable is not included in the sale.
