The Fender Rhodes Chroma Polaris was released in 1984. It was made in Japan and was originally designed by the ARP engineers, however, Fender/Rhodes took over the company and eventually released it under their name. The Rhodes Chroma Polaris is a 2 oscillator poly synth with oscillator sync, 2 envelops, ring mod and a basic sequencer. Best of all was ahead of its time - all fader and button functions on the Polaris respond to MIDI continuous controller data. This means it can be used easily in modern studio set ups to achieve those early to mid 80's analogue sounds.
