The Sony MU-R201, introduced in 1986, is a vintage stereo digital reverb unit renowned for its high-quality sound and versatility. It features true stereo processing from input to output, powered by Sony's proprietary 2-channel audio processing LSI (Digital Presence synthesiser CXD1079), which allows for complex stereo effects surpassing those achievable with dual mono setups . The unit offers 100 factory presets and 100 user memory slots, covering various reverb types such as hall, room, plate, gate, and delay, as well as advanced modes like dual reverb and reverb with gate or delay . Its 4-band programmable EQ and up to 26 adjustable parameters provide extensive sound-shaping capabilities. The MU-R201 also includes MIDI connectivity and footswitch control, making it suitable for both studio and live applications .
Condition:
- This is a used unit.
- This unit is in good condition. It shows lots of marks, nicks and scratches from use and age, mostly on the top of the unit. The faceplate is still nice! There is no major damage. Please see all photos for further details.
- This unit has had a minor service and a new memory battery installed. It has been thoroughly tested and we can confirm it is working as it should. There are no faults to note.
- Please be aware this unit is 100V. This means it MUST be used with a step-down transformer, not a travel adaptor. If you are unsure about this please let us know. We have some great, compatible step-downs for sale HERE. They are designed in Australia for use in Australia and can be run 24/7. If you purchase from outside Australia you may need a step-down transformer to use this unit. Please contact us if you need any help sourcing the correct product.
- A two pin, Japanese IEC cable will be included for you to use between the machine and your step-down transformer.
