The Diatone DS-55XL are a 2-way bass-reflex bookshelf speaker introduced in 1989 by Mitsubishi/Diatone, designed for high-fidelity performance with advanced materials. Each unit features a R.I. hybrid cone woofer (olefin resin, carbon fibre, and aramid fibre blend) for powerful yet detailed mids and lows, paired with a boron dome tweeter built with Diatone’s D.U.D. (Directly United Diaphragm) technology for extended, precise highs. Each speaker weighs about 11 kg. The speakers are housed in a rigid, shielded cabinet that minimises resonance and interference.

- Cosmetically these speakers are in nice condition. They show some signs of use and age like some marks, nicks and scratches. There is some sections on the corners and edges where the vinyl has been chipped off. Nothing too major, overall they are a pretty nice pair.
