Yamaha RY8 90's Small Portable Rhythm Programmer / Drum Machine
Yamaha RY8 is a mini, portable and easy-to-use rhythm machine which was released by Yamaha in 1994. It is small and light enough to use basically anywhere you like, as it can also be powered on with AA batteries.
It features 128 AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) drum sounds, 50 'normal' AWM sounds (such as piano, strings, brass, guitar, synth lead, etc), 250 patterns, and 100 songs. This is a small fellow with big ideas. Power comes courtesy of batteries, or an external power supply, and sound can be tapped from two standard quarter‑inch jack outputs, or the walkman‑style headphone output.
The 12 non‑velocity‑sensitive pads (drum sounds do respond to velocity over MIDI) can be switched between two Pad Banks to cover the 24 sounds available in a kit. Twelve preset kits are provided, covering a range of basic types including Rock, Analogue, Techno, Brush and Latin, and a further four kits can be defined by the user, where level, accent level, pan and pitch are all programmable.
Fifty rhythm patterns are available for programming, either from scratch, or by making use of the 200 preset patterns as starting points.
Condition:
• This is a used unit.
• This unit is in good condition for its age. It shows a small amount of wear from use and age, like some small marks, nicks and scratches. Nothing major at all. Please see all photos.
• This unit has been thoroughly tested and works as it should. There are no faults to note.
• The text on the screen looks dim in some of the photos, however this is just the angle the photo was taken at.
• This unit ships in its OG box.
• This sale is for the RY8 unit only. A power supply will be included for AU and NZ buyers. International buyers will need to source their own. Please get in touch if you need help finding the correct item.
