Built from 2003 to 2007, the Yamaha Motif ES 8 features a huge 175MB wave ROM, an enhanced soundset of 1,859 waveforms for the MOTIF’s 1,024 voices, plus 65 drum kits. At the time, Yamaha had designed a new tone generator chip which offered true 128-note polyphony, and a newly developed synth engine which provided new parameters and faster, more precise envelope control. An enhanced effects system includes 20 reverb types and 49 chorus/delay types, 8 types of mastering effects including multiband compression, and a 5-band master EQ!

The MOTIF ES8 houses an advanced Phrase Factory arpeggiator with realtime loop remix capability plus parameters such as Swing, Velocity, andQuantize so you can easily modify preset arps. Overall expressiveness of the instrument has been expanded with the new “Mega Voice” system, a technology that makes it possible to include all the nuances of an instrument in the sample.

The ES 8 is also incorporated powerful sampler capabilities with the optional expansion (Please note, this ES 8 does not have the optional DINN installed for the sampler to work)

Condition:
  • This unit has been used. 

  • This unit is mostly in excellent condition, except for one large dent in the MDF side panel. Otherwise it is in very nice condition with only some small nicks, marks and light scratches. Nothing major at all. Please see photos. 

  • This unit has been tested and it is fully functional. 

  • Please be aware this unit is 100V. This means it MUST be used with a step-down transformer, not a travel adaptor. If you are unsure about this please let us know. We have some great, compatible step-downs for sale HERE. They are designed in Australia for use in Australia and can be run 24/7.

  •  If you purchase from outside Australia you may need a step-down transformer to use this unit. Please contact us if you need any help sourcing the correct product. 

  • This unit powers on with a standard IEC cable. A Japanese IEC will be included for the new owner to use between the synth and their step-down.

Pick up would be preferred and is free. 

If you are in a remote area you will most likely incur extra fees before this unit can ship. This ES 8 weighs around 28kg and is 1.45m long. Shipping costs vary Australia wide. It may have to be skidded. Please contact us with your state, suburb and postcode for a direct quote. Rough quotes to different parts of Australia are showing anywhere between $200-$1000. 

You are welcome to organise your own packaging and post.
