Yamaha MC-4 Vintage Moving Coil Phono Cartridge & Headshell

The Yamaha MC-4 is a low-output moving-coil phono cartridge introduced by Yamaha in the early 1980s, built around an air-core cross-matrix coil system and a tapered aluminium cantilever that gives it excellent transient response and detail retrieval. The MC-4 is low-output requiring an MC phono stage or step-up transformer. The MC-4 is prized by vinyl enthusiasts for its clean, open, highly resolving sound signature and its ability to track complex passages with ease, making it one of Yamaha’s most respected vintage MC designs and a sought-after cartridge for collectors seeking refined Japanese engineering.

Condition:
  • This cartridge and stylus have been used.

  • This is a low-output moving coil cartridge. It will require a phono stage or step-up if you are using a MM setup.

  • This set up has been tested. It is working well and sounds great!!

  • This cartridge comes set up on a very nice headshell.

  • This set up shows some small signs of wear, nothing major. Please ensure to see all photos.

  • The white stand in the photos is not included in the sale. It is for demonstration purposes only.
