Audio Craft - Ultracraft AC-4400 Vintage Dual Uni-Pivot Oil-Damped Stereo Tonearm
The Audio Craft AC‑4400 is a premium Japanese-made stereo tonearm from the 1970s, featuring a double‑point design with oil-damped suspension at both pivot points for exceptionally smooth, resonance-free tracking. The original design utilises silicone damping oil to optimise performance. Highly regarded among audiophiles, the AC‑4400 is lauded for its transparent sound and build quality.
This unit comes with the S shaped arm.
Condition:
- This is a used unit.
- Physically this unit is in very good condition for its age. It shows some light wear from use and age. Overall it is still a very nice piece.
- This sale includes a wiring loom. This also shows some general signs of age, but nothing major. Please see photos.
- This tone arm has been tested and is working very well!
- This tone arm has no oil in the damping system at the moment. We recommend filling up the oil damping system after install to avoid leaks and mess.
- The Audio Craft AC‑4400 tonearm uses high-viscosity silicone damping oil in its pivot wells. For the AC‑4400’s double‑point oil-damped design, collectors and restorers typically recommend pure 100% silicone fluid in the 300,000 cSt to 500,000 cSt range.

The AC-400C is definitely for people who are experienced with turntables and setting up tone arms. This is because this unit is delicate and require fine precision to set up. We will not be able to remotely help with set up or installation. So please ensure you are confident before purchase or have a technician who can install it for you. (If you are able to visit our store in West Gosford, NSW we could help with set up)
