Akai MPC 3000 Integrated Rhythm Machine 16 Bit Drum Sampler MIDI Sequencer - 120V

Released in 1994 and made in Japan, the Akai MPC3000 is a standalone 16-bit sampling drum machine and MIDI sequencer developed by Roger Linn in collaboration with Akai. It was the final MPC model produced with Linn’s direct involvement.

This example has been upgraded and refurbished with:

  • Expanded 32MB sample memory

  • Refurbished internal power supply

  • Brand-new LCD screen

  • New pad-sensor sheet

  • Internal SCSI SD-card reader installed in place of the original floppy drive

The SD-card conversion provides a more convenient and dependable way to save and load sounds, programs and sequences while retaining the MPC3000’s standalone workflow.

The MPC3000 samples in stereo at 16-bit/44.1kHz and provides 32-voice polyphony, resonant dynamic filtering, envelopes and internal effects. Its 16 velocity- and pressure-sensitive pads are arranged across four banks, allowing up to 64 sound assignments within a program.

The sequencer holds up to 99 sequences with 99 tracks per sequence and includes real-time and step recording, swing, timing correction, note repeat, track shifting and song arrangement. Four independent MIDI outputs provide 64 MIDI channels for controlling external synthesisers, samplers and drum machines.

The MPC3000 became particularly associated with influential producers including J Dilla, Dr. Dre and Just Blaze, valued for its responsive pads, direct workflow, sampling character and distinctive sequencer feel.

Condition:

  • This unit has been used.

  • This unit is in great condition for its age. It shows some small signs of wear like some marks, nicks and scratches. Nothing major at all. Please see all photos.

  • This unit has been serviced and upgraded. All faulty components were replaced. This unit has been thoroughly tested and has no faults to note. This included:

  • It was expanded to 32MB sample memory (max).

  • Refurbished the internal power supply.

  • Installed a brand new LCD screen from MPC Stuff.

  • Installed a brand new pad-sensor sheet from MPC Stuff.

  • Installed and set up an Internal SCSI SD-card reader to replace the floppy drive. A SD card with a few drum sounds is included.

  • This unit is running OS 3.5 (Vailixi)

  • Please be aware, this unit is 120V. This means you MUST connect it to the correct step-down transformer before powering it on.This MPC3000 will ship with a compatible step-down for Australian and New Zealand buyers only.
  • The use of a step-down transformer may also apply to international buyers as well. Please ask if you are unsure so we can help you source the correct item.

  • This sale is for the MPC3000, US IEC cable and Step-down transformer (AU & NZ only). Nothing else is included in this sale.
