Edirol UM-550 5x5 USB MIDI Interface Patchbay Merger 80-Channel Roland
Released around 2002, the Edirol UM-550 is a five-input, five-output USB MIDI interface and programmable MIDI patchbay produced by Roland.
Its five MIDI input and output pairs provide control over as many as 80 MIDI channels. Routing can be configured directly from the front panel, while Merge mode allows data from multiple inputs to be combined and sent to a selected output.
The UM-550 can store five routing patches for later recall and can operate as a standalone MIDI patchbay without remaining connected to a computer. Front-panel indicators provide a clear view of MIDI activity and the currently selected routing.
A flexible hardware MIDI router for larger synthesiser setups, with useful patch memories and merging functions that do not depend on a computer.
Computer connection is provided over USB. Best for anyone running legacy systems as Roland’s last official drivers support Windows 8/8.1 and Mac OS X 10.9, so compatibility with newer operating systems is not guaranteed and should be checked before purchase.

- Physically this unit is in good condition for its age. It shows some small general nicks and scratches. Nothing major. Please see photos for further details.
- This unit is fully functional. It has no faults to note.
- This unit powers on the Roland PSB-1U power supply. A generic one will be included for Australian and New Zealand buyers only.
