It offers 16-bit linear sampling with variable sample rates, 8-voice polyphony, and Ensoniq’s well-regarded digital effects processor, which is integral to its sound and signal path. The EPS-16 Plus Rack supports internal effects on samples, extensive sample editing, keyboard and velocity mapping. This unit also features the SCSI expansion for external storage, alongside a brand new Gotek USB emulator. Known for its warm, characterful converters and powerful effects, it became popular in professional studios and is still valued for its distinctive early-1990s digital sampling sound and deep, hands-on architecture.
