MOTU MTP AV MIDI Timepiece 8x8 MIDI Interface W/ SMPTE ADAT Word Clock

Released around 2000, the Mark of the Unicorn MIDI Timepiece AV-USB is a professional 8-input, 8-output USB MIDI interface, programmable patchbay and synchroniser housed in a 1U rackmount enclosure.

Its eight independent MIDI inputs and outputs provide access to 128 MIDI channels. Flexible internal routing allows MIDI signals to be merged, filtered, muted, remapped and distributed between connected instruments. Configurations can be stored within the unit and recalled using its front-panel display, allowing it to operate as a standalone MIDI patchbay without a computer.

The MTP AV-USB also provides extensive studio synchronisation facilities. It can generate and read SMPTE time code, convert between LTC and MIDI Time Code, and work with MIDI Machine Control. Further connections include ADAT Sync, video sync and word-clock output, allowing MIDI instruments, tape machines, digital recorders and studio computers to follow a common timing reference.

Computer connection is provided through a standard USB Type-B port. As this is an older interface, compatibility with the buyer’s operating system and software should be confirmed before purchase.

Condition:

  • This is a used unit.

  • Physically this unit is in excellent condition for its age. It shows some small general nicks and scratches. Nothing major. Please see photos for further details.

  • This unit is fully functional. It has been thoroughly tested and it has no faults to note.

  • Please be aware this unit is 240V. This means it is ready to plug and play within Australia and New Zealand.

  • International buyers may need a step-up transformer to use this unit, or they could get a licensed technician to swap the voltage internally. Please check in with us if you are unsure.

  • This unit powers on with a standard IEC cable. This cable is not included in the sale.

  • This sale is for the MTP AV unit only. Nothing else is included in this sale.
