Ortofon MC20 MkII Moving Coil Cartridge w/ SAEC ULS-3X Headshell

The Ortofon MC20 MkII is a vintage low-output moving-coil cartridge fitted here to a Japanese SAEC ULS-3X ceramic headshell.

The cartridge features a Fine Line stylus. Its extremely low output means it requires a compatible moving-coil phono input or a suitable step-up transformer rather than a standard moving-magnet phono input.

The SAEC ULS-3X was introduced around 1978 as the company’s premium ceramic headshell. It is constructed from high-purity sintered aluminium oxide and features an SME-type bayonet connection, adjustable overhang and adjustable azimuth. The headshell weighs approximately 17g, making it best suited to tonearms with sufficient counterweight capacity.

A quality vintage analogue combination pairing Ortofon’s detailed Fine Line moving-coil cartridge with SAEC’s distinctive high-rigidity ceramic headshell.
