Ortofon RMG-309 12" Broadcast Long-Stroke Dynamic Balanced 70's Tonearm

The Ortofon RMG-309 is a premium long-stroke dynamical-balance tonearm originally introduced in the early 1970s. It features a 320 mm effective length (~12 inches), 11 mm overhang, and a 15.9° offset angle, precisely engineered for low-compliance cartridges such as Ortofon SPUs. Its heavy, rubber-damped duralumin arm tube and precision ball-bearing base suppress resonance, delivering exceptional tracking stability and audio clarity. Designed with a spring-controlled counterweight adjustable from 0 to 7 g tracking force, it offers plug-in cable connectivity and a detachable headshell for easy setup. The arm's long throw minimises tracking error (<0.83°), earning it a reputation for transparency and suitability in high-end broadcast and audiophile systems.
