The Tascam 122 MKII, produced from 1987 to 1993, is a professional-grade, rack-mount cassette deck esteemed for its reliability and audio fidelity in broadcast and mastering applications. This 3-head, 2-motor system supports Type I, CrO₂, and Metal tapes. It features Dolby B and C noise reduction systems, HX Pro headroom extension, and balanced XLR as well as unbalanced RCA inputs and outputs. The unit's design includes large analog VU meters and a digital tape counter. Renowned for its robust construction and precise performance, the 122 MKII remains a favoured choice among audio professionals and enthusiasts seeking high-quality analog recording and playback capabilities

Condition:

  • This is a used unit. 

  • Physically this unit is overall in nice condition for its age. It shows some signs of use and age like general marks, nicks and scratches. There is nothing major, nor anything which detracts from the use or sound of the unit. Please see all photos. 

  • This unit has been serviced. It is fully functional and ready to use. The service included a full rebuild, clean and re-grease of the tape mechanism. It has had brand new belts installed. All potentiometers were cleaned and the record and playback leves have been calibrated. 

  • Please be aware this unit is 100V. This means it MUST be used with a step-down transformer, not a travel adaptor. If you are unsure about this please let us know. We have some great, compatible step-downs for sale HERE. They are designed in Australia for use in Australia and can be run 24/7.

  •  If you purchase from outside Australia you may need a step-down transformer to use this unit. Please contact us if you need any help sourcing the correct product. 

  • This sale is for the 122 MKII only. Nothing else is included.
