Taylor 618e 2015 Grand Orchestra Maple Acoustic Electric Guitar USA
This sale is for a 2015 Taylor 618e Acoustic Electric guitar. Its serial number is 1106035085. This beauty has only had one owner and has been kept in a studio its whole life.
Made at Taylor’s El Cajon, California factory on 3 June 2015, this Taylor 618e is a premium acoustic-electric guitar from the newly revoiced 600 Series introduced that year.
The 618e uses Taylor’s large, non-cutaway Grand Orchestra body, measuring approximately 16¾ inches across the lower bout and five inches deep. It combines solid figured Big Leaf maple back and sides with a torrefied solid Sitka spruce top. Taylor developed its Maple Advanced Performance bracing and individually calibrated wood thicknesses to give these redesigned 600 Series instruments greater warmth, low-end presence and responsiveness while retaining maple’s clarity and definition.
Its hard-rock maple neck has a 25.5-inch scale, a 1¾-inch nut and an ebony fingerboard with grained-ivoroid Wings inlays. Other appointments include ebony body and fingerboard binding, a paua rosette, ebony backstrap, striped-ebony pickguard and Taylor tuners. The maple back, sides and neck carry Taylor’s hand-rubbed Brown Sugar stain beneath an unusually thin finish.
Factory-fitted Expression System 2 electronics use three behind-the-saddle sensors, with discreet volume, bass and treble controls positioned on the upper side of the body.
A beautifully appointed American-made Taylor with a powerful Grand Orchestra voice, figured maple construction and the warmer, more responsive design introduced with the reworked 2015 600 Series.
